The Nanotechnology Research Institute (NRI) at Jiaxing University is a research platform to lead the science and engineering on nanotechnology. The mission of NRI is to research the scientific and technological issues for the development and application of nanotechnology. The main thrusting research areas are focused on the developments and applications of nanomaterials & nanocomposites, nanomanufacturing & simulation, nanodevices for information & telecommunication (IT), energy, bio-medical components, and nanoscale characterization & analysis.

The research directions are to apply the developed nanomaterials and nanodevices to specific applications, such as structural components for automobile & aerospace industries, electronic components for information & telecommunication (IT) industries, and functional components for energy and biomedical industries. The NRI pursues collaboration with other universities, institutes and industries, and aims to lead innovations on nanotechnology.
